Ellen Wood

I am a columnist, artist and prizewinning author. In my books and newspaper/magazine columns, I write as Ellen Wood about how to grow younger, based on a program of Mind/Body/Spirit practices that succeeded beyond my wildest dreams to reverse my early symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease (I have the gene). As a painter I use my father’s middle name, Maruška. I am also the ad agency for NorthStar Tire & Auto.

In my younger days, I was a nationally recognized marketing and advertising expert with a proven track record for generating and executing innovative ideas which produced extraordinary results. SVP for a nationwide firm that provides service and sales skills training, coaching and market research to banks. I coached bank CEOs on how to maximize their leadership skills and I earned the highest commissions for 7 years. Previously, I was the SVP, Dir. of Marketing & Sales, reporting to the C.E.O of First Fidelity Bancorporation. I had bottom-line responsibility for increasing the bank’s market share and new accounts. I was in charge of Product Development, Pricing, Advertising, Merchandising, Customer/Employee Communications, and Community Relations.

I was the Founder and Creative Director of award-winning In-House Ad Agency. In 1992 I was chosen the "National Bank Product Development Expert” and was the featured speaker for the ABA National Convention after successfully developing and marketing the first forerunner to the Money Market Account in the country.

I was the first female chairman of the board for the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce. We doubled the membership that year. My creativity is still vibrant and I would like to be considered for the HAC board of directors.
